Background
This was my first project at HMP Master, and the challenge was to combine two elements that were already live on their system seamlessly into one design. The functionality that was required (inventory and daily rate management) already existed, but was not easy to use. The turnaround for redesigning and relaunching this feature was quick, because it was a necessary feature for our users. After testing the redesign with our users, we found that there was one more small function that they needed — the channel manager — and added that into the final launch.
Goals of Design
• Streamline the design aesthetically; make it more straightforward and user-friendly.
• Add functionality: pop-ups to individually adjust allotment (inventory) and rate plans for specific dates and/or booking channels.
• Add functionality: a channel manager, to be able to switch between channels when inputting details.
• Add mini pop-up explanations of different functions as users hover over an informational icon.
• Redesign the calendar function to make it more streamlined.
